Christine Battisti Keane, Executive Director
Christine has over 22 years of experience working in the field of senior care and living having worked in long term care, rehabilitation and now independent living communities. She is a graduate of Cortland State University and currently working towards a Juris Doctor degree.
Christine has strong leadership skills and commitment to the community. She is dedicated to the needs of Leland Home and collaborative relationships with the Waltham and surrounding community. She has a true commitment to the mission of Leland Home providing high quality and highly valued care that exceeds the expectations of those we serve.
David Volovick, Executive Director
David received his BA in Biology from Wheaton College in 1996. He worked as the Entertainment Director for the AMC Theater Corporation for ten years while pursuing his Masters Degree in Public Health at Boston University School of Medicine and received his MPH in Social and Behavorial Science/Behavorial Epidemiology in 2001. David, a nursing home administrator, worked for Whittier Health Management and Merrimack Health Group before becoming the Administrator of The Leland Home in June 2005. His strong clinical end and customer service background has been a great fit for The Leland Home. Being a small not-for-profit enables David to get more involved in the daily practicality of operations as well as working with the staff, residents and their family members. David lives in Lexington with his daughter.
Madina Zziwa, LPN, Wellness Director
Madina graduated as a licensed practical nurse from Mass Bay Community College in 2008 where she received the excellence award, and was recommended by her professor to tutor peers in pharmacology. She was also on the pinning committee, class of 2008. She has been a nurse at the Leland Home for 5 years. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for 10 years serving people in their homes. Her philosophy has always been, "You treat people the way you would your only family." She lives in Waltham, MA with her son.
Sandy Cane, Business Office Manager
Sandy has been at the Leland Home since August 2009, and is now the Business Office Manager. Prior to coming to the Leland Home, she worked for several years at General Electric in Billerica and at Panametrics, Inc. in Waltham. Her background is in Accounting, Payroll and Human Resources. Sandy has lived in Waltham for over 30 years. She enjoys traveling and spending family time with her husband, three grown children and grandson.
Candy Bouris, Director of Activities and Volunteers
Candy has been serving the residents at The Leland Home since September 1994 as the Director of Activities and Volunteers. A graduate of Bates College in Maine, Candy received a B.A. in Mathematics (magna cum laude) and worked as a programmer analyst at John Hancock and an instructional aide with handicapped preschoolers before joining the team at The Leland Home.
John Wagner, Director of Dining Services
John is from Syracuse, NY where he lived for 30 years before moving to Massachusetts. Has been in the dining and catering field for 20 years and with the Leland Home for 11 years. John lives in Northborough, MA with his wife, Dora, and two dogs Dakota & Gage. He is a Buddhist and loves to cook.
